Step out on a warm enchanting night
Feel its presence flowing in your veins
Let the luscious fragrance of jasmine
Permeate your senses …
Let your spirit soar without pretences …

Legendary images trace our existence each day … we feel them, hear them, see them and taste them. These are building blocks and fragments of visualization that influence the creation of poetry in some form or another. When visualization is absent, a poem cannot configure or take form in its true structure. The silhouette of poetry is justifiably variations of images, past or present, ingeniously drawn together by the poet. The poet has the ability to acclimatize such images and create a mesmerizing array along with rhythm and rhyme. Visualization and imagery are intangible. It is the superior intellect of the poet to transform the intangible by introducing form and structure in a poem. It is the astute interpretation of what is seen in the mind’s eye that results in a work of art and a jubilant layout. It is the ardent passion finding its way from external forces to the mind that holds the poet captive with enthusiasm, thus rendering a mingling of visualization, image and poem to completion. The finished piece of art is born once again! The impeccable task has given new birth! What started out as a visual note, has transformed into a wondrous expression of the poet’s articulate capability.
Is such mastery a dedicated debut only to the seasoned writer? I think not. Anyone with a burning, passionate desire to write is apt to pursue such vocation. It is asserted, though, if writers and poets a like, embrace the form of visualization and imagery. There is no doubt that such expressions are impregnable when one deliberates the efficacy of success in the sphere of writing. How else can a writer or poet envisage the completion of a well done job without the employment of visualization? What form, what mode of illustration would be enticing enough? Visualization, in its entire efficacy, is the crucial beginning and end in any writing endeavor.
In the true sense, visualization stems from creativity, and vice-a-versa. The right hemisphere is ideally conformed for creativity; functionally it serves to occupy a larger volume in the cortex, where complex processing of information is performed.
As we seek to understand creativity and the brain, they become obscure. Mental visualization is increasingly practiced today. It has the aptitude of improving one’s powers of observation and excels in the art of being able to sit still and quiet the mind. It enables the writer and poet to evade distraction on occasions when ideas and thoughts leap in abundant chaos in the mind.
Visualization, therefore, is imperative for those seeking to entertain a rewarding venture. It is that soul-searching mysticism that improves with unrelenting practice. It is that consequential accomplishment, when approached with all your heart, will make your work paramount and reward you with momentous pleasure.
So, my friend, if you encounter frustration and doubt in what you attempt, remember that you have a very powerful mind which is capable of unsurpassed and unparalleled creativity. Improvise … and assert your time to significant visualization … your work will be a pure devotion – a ceremonial dedication!
